Philippine Aptitude Classification Test Update

To address the current needs of the schools brought about by the implementation of the K to 12 program, additional information on the matching of PACT educational programs with the K to 12 senior high school tracks will be provided together with the score interpretation guide.

It can be observed from the supplement that there is no one-to-one correspondence between the educational programs and the career tracks and strands. In some cases, the courses in an educational program is a combination of the Academic and the Technology and Livelihood Education and Technical-Vocation Livelihood (TLE & TVL) tracks. In addition, only two courses are classified under the Arts and Design track, and both are in the Media and Visual Arts strand. Furthermore, there is no sample course for the Sports track.

The distribution of PACT courses by K to 12 career tracks reflects the results of an informal survey that shows many schools will offer the Academic and the TLE & TVL tracks only. Very few schools will offer the Arts and Design and the Sports tracks.

With this information, CEM aims to help schools classify and place students in appropriate career tracks and strands based on their aptitudes.
