Proactively providing the tools for the newly implemented K to 12 Curriculum

The Department of Education started implementing the K to 12 Curriculum in School Year 2011-2012. CEM assures educators and parents that it is ready to provide the tools necessary for this curriculum.

While the Achievement Tests for the old curriculum (which is being progressively phased out as the K to 12 curriculum is being phased in) are still available, beginning School Year 2012-2013, CEM's Achievement Tests for subjects taught using the K to 12 Curriculum will become available.

"The K to 12 curriculum hopes to bring into being a cohort of educators, learners and a citizenry responsive to the intellectual, social and economic challenges of a 21st century global society," says CEM president Dr. Lenore De La Llana-Decenteceo.

"Now more than ever, it is vital that educators use assessment and diagnostic tools as the K to 12 curriculum is being piloted. To know where we are, what we do, and how we are doing by way of these targets, we must measure our achievements."

"We will no doubt use results of assessments to empower educators to shape the value and projected results of the curriculum by identifying areas that work and areas that may possibly need adjustments or improvements."
