Statistical Processes and Item Bank Assistant

Reporting to the Test Development Head or Officer, the Statistical Processes & Item Bank Assistant is responsible in the supervision of the item writing and review activities.

Basic Duties

  1. Under Supervision, perform operational work for assigned testing programs. This includes preparation of documents for data gathering, coordination with target schools and administration of test.
  2. Assemble and process data for routine statistical operations.
  3. Monitor the completion of tasks identified in the context of the processing schedule, including receipt of critical information from other areas.
  4. Prepare and check (edit) accurately information for score reporting, tables, and figures for statistical procedures, documentation, and reports. Update textual material for such documents.
  5. Assist in preparing program documentation, update and maintain statistical files and operational data file for assigned programs and projects. This includes preparation of tables for technical reports, and maintaining and updating of item bank.
  6. Prepare data for routine statistical analysis and data-processing tasks using user-oriented computer packages (e.g., Quest, TiaPlus, OPLM, DOT), and statistical software packages. Create datasets, enter computer job control information, code parameters, and submit programs for exe.
  7. Update and run routine statistical analyses using user-oriented computer packages (e.g., Quest, TiaPlus, OPLM, DOT). This includes detecting and correcting errors in the outputs and program files.
  8. Draft standard statistical reports.
  9. Assist in the preparation of data analysis components of proposals and cost/resource estimates.
  10. Maintain continuing awareness of recent advantages in numerical analysis, computer science and statistical technologies.
  11. Assist in the preparation of technical reports.
  12. Direct assigned projects, to include preparation of planning memorandum, monitoring expenses, delegating work, monitoring and reviewing work delegated, and coordination of work schedules and progress toward goals.
  13. Documents data analysis systems and results.
  14. Performs other duties that may be assigned from time to time by management.

Special Duty

Assists in securing high-risk test materials during production, utilization, and storage.

Candidate Qualification

  • College degree holder of Mathematics, Statistics, Behavioral Science or any related course
  • At least 4 years of relevant work experience. Relevant training and certification are an advantage.
