What You Need to Take the Online NMAT

 

The Online NMAT is timed and supervised. Human proctors and AI-powered systems will monitor the conduct of the examinations. To take the test, you will need:
1. Laptop or desktop computer with Windows (Windows 7 and above) Operating System. The test DOES NOT WORK ON Mac laptops, Mac desktop computers, and android or iOS mobile devices (e.g., cellphone, smartphones, digital pads, and tablets). Reminder: You may have an extra equipment or back up device in case of computer malfunction. The spare device shall, however, remain closed when not in use. Please declare your possession of additional device in the testing room or area during the authorization process.
2. Working webcam (either built-in or detachable). This is a STRICT requirement. NO webcam NO test. Use of mobile phones as webcams is NOT ALLOWED.
3. Working microphone (either built-in or detachable). NO microphone NO test. Adjust the volume of your microphone to a maximum before entering the test.

4. Functional computer mouse. This is recommended for easier navigation.

5. Stable internet connection with speed of at least 5 Mbps. Check if you have a stable internet connection with recommended speed. Observe if you are able to login using your email account 

without difficulty or significant lag. You can check Internet speed in the following sites:

Unstable or intermittent internet connectivity, and/or use of hotspots may affect the loading of your online test page.

Note: CEM will not be responsible, in any manner/form, if your exam/answers are compromised due to poor connectivity.

6. Up-to-date Internet Browser. The testing website supports the following browsers:

The CEM Online Test is not supported on Mac (Safari), or Edge browsers.

7. Secure Exam Browser (Mettl Secure Browser or MSB). This is an application you will need to download and install on your computer to be able to take the exam securely. You will not be able to access the test without this application. This application will be available for download when you conduct the compatibility check for your computer. 8. A small whiteboard with whiteboard marker (or other easily-erasable writing materials) for your scratch work. This can be used ONLY for subtests/items that require the use of scratch materials. Using scratch papers (paper and pen/pencil) is NOT allowed.

For your scratch work, you may use any of the following: 

a. mini whiteboard with whiteboard marker and eraser

b. plastic/paper magic slate

c. clear acetate/plastic sheet with whiteboard marker and eraser

d. plain chalkboard with chalk and eraser.

Easily-erasable improvised materials can be used with your proctor’s permission. 

Note: If you will be using any of the above external materials, you will be asked to show the above materials periodically during the exam proper itself for purposes of verification. You are only allowed to use your scratch materials in the following portions of the test:

9. Valid ID. You will need to present a valid ID when you log in to take the actual online test.

9. Well-lit, well-ventilated, and quiet room where you can take the test alone, free from distractions.
