:: Scholarship Program & Fund Management

CEM offers scholarship and fund management services with the ultimate aim of democratizing educational opportunities. Our services include the selection or placement of candidates for scholarship grants, monitoring of grantees’ academic progress, scholarship program development, evaluation, and fund management. Users of this CEM service are usually private foundations and both local and multi-national corporations that share a common vision of sustaining equitable access to educational opportunities by providing scholarship grants to deserving students and dependents of employees. The current list of clientele includes the following:

CEM – Miriam College Scholarship Program
Master in Education major in Measurement and Evaluation

CEM has collaborated with Miriam College in awarding full tuition scholarship to 12 qualified applicants to undertake the Master in Education major in Measurement and Evaluation program to commence in November 2009-2010.

The Master in Education major in Measurement and Evaluation is a 14-month, non-thesis program which starts on November 2009 and ends in December 2010. Combining the study of research design, testing and assessment, and evaluation, the program is designed to prepare students for research and academic careers in education, social sciences, and human services. All successful applicants will receive full scholarship which provides tuition, basic, and miscellaneous fees for the entire duration of the program. The scholarship does not cover other costs such as instructional materials, living, and travel expenses.

PILIPINAS SHELL PETROLEUM CORP.Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp.
Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation started its long association with the Center for Educational Measurement, Inc. (CEM) when it launched the SHELL Scholarship Program in 1976 for the dependents of the Shell employees. The grant covers full scholarship in high school and in college and offers tuition and allowance benefits. For 31 years now, Pilipinas Shell continues its commitment on broadening educational opportunities to Shell employees through its program.

IBM PHILIPPINES INC.
IBM Philippines Inc.The IBM Philippines Scholarship Program is involved in giving opportunities to those who have the potentials and the merit to pursue higher education. Launched in 1979, it provides deserving children of its employees with scholarship grants which includes full tuition benefits and allowances, and covers any course of study leading to a baccalaureate degree. For 30 years now, IBM Philippines Inc. has sent about 110 scholars to various universities in Manila to take professional study programs.

BANK OF THE PHILIPPINE ISLANDS
Bank of the Philippine IslandsNot only does the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) contribute in the socio-economic development of the country but it also gives educational opportunities to those who have the potentials, thereby enabling them to prepare themselves to render meaningful service to their country. The BPI Scholarship Program started in schoolyear 1990-1991 focusing on the BPI employees’ dependents. Since its launching, the program has sent 100 scholars to professional study programs in different schools in Manila. The program covers tuition and allowances.

Chevron Philippines, Inc.
The Chevron Philippines, Inc., which produces geothermal energy to supply the country’s power requirements, also believes that education is an important factor in the economic growth and well-being of the community. It initiated in 1990 a program focused on the development of academic potentials of employees’ dependents.

The Chevron Geothermal Philippines Holdings, Inc. (CGPHI) Scholarship Program for Dependent Children covers tuition, book allowance and monthly stipend and sends its scholars to various universities in Manila to pursue courses leading to a baccalaureate degree.

BOEHRINGER INGELHEIM, INC.
BOEHRINGER INGELHEIM, INC. The Boehringer Employee Council (BEC) of the Boehringer Ingelheim, Inc. launched in 1992 a scholarship program with the objective of giving opportunity to qualified dependents of Boehringer employees obtain higher education. This educational benefit is given to those who have the potentials for higher education but who would not have the means to develop these potentials otherwise.

NESTLE PHILIPPINES, INC.
Nestle Philippines Inc.

 


In its desire to extend assistance to its employees, Nestle Philippines, Inc. launched a scholarship program in 1996 the recipients of which are the Nestle employees’ dependents.

For 13 years now, the scholarship program awards tuition fee and allowance for grantees in the elementary, secondary and college levels.

HOLCIM Philippines, Inc.

To exhibit the company’s support on the value of education, HOLCIM Philippines launched its program on August 2004.  It provides high school and college educational assistance to employees’ legal dependents.  Such grant is in recognition of good academic performance of the employee’s qualified dependents as incentive in the pursuit of academic excellence.


PBEd (Philippine Business for Education)

The 1000 Teachers Program Scholarship Award is a public-private partnership for Philippine Education spearheaded by Philippine Business for Education (PBEd) in partnership with the Department of Education that seeks to attract the best and the brightest into the teaching profession. Students who pass the requirements and the selection process will receive a four (4) year scholarship, tuition and fees.

Emilio Aguinaldo College Merit Scholarship

The Emilio Aguinaldo College Merit Scholarship was launched this year to provide scholarship assistance to deserving freshmen students by passing the selection process.
