CEM gears up for the 37th IAEA Annual Conference
It's all systems go as the Center for Educational Measurement, Inc., a leading educational assessment and research institution in the Philippines, prepares to host the 37th annual conference of the International Association for Educational Assessment in Manila in 2011. CEM has been actively involved in IAEA conferences since 1994 and is the only primary member from the Philippines.
Established in 1974, the IAEA consists of individual and institutional members from more than 50 countries involved in educational assessment. Its mission is to advance the science and practice of assessment by organizations around the world. Its annual conference is a major event in assessment that serves as a global forum for sharing professional expertise.
The theme of next year's annual conference is "Assessment and the Challenge of Globalization." Dr. Lenore Decenteceo, CEM President and currently Vice President of IAEA, hopes that this theme will draw attention to aspects of globalization that have shaped, and will continue to sway, the strategic course of educational systems and assessments in various local and international contexts.
